Initial review of the footage

The editing process what quite a struggle for this project. The software used to edit the footage is CapCut. The last project I did, I used iMovie which is very different from CapCut in several ways. CapCut has a lot more features available to use, and getting to know what does what and all the functions is surprisingly easy. While iMovie has less overall features and the finished product is quite basic. One good thing about iMovie is it doesn't have a watermark at the end. CapCut was the recommended app to use for editing videos so I suppose there is a reason for that and its popularity. Uploading the clips was a quick and easy process. The order of the clips then had to be decided, which was the first thing done after them being imported. The first issue we ran into while editing was that the video was too long. 35 seconds needed to be edited out to reach the target length of 1 minute and 15 second. The next thing we wanted to do was add some effects to the footage to make it seem more interesting and watchable. Again, CapCut has a lot of features to choose from. Picking stuff was not easy for us as this music video and the song included have a broad range of possible things to add. To make it seem like the music video was made in 1965, when the song was released, we turned it black and white. We did this by simply lowering the saturation. It was then time to add the audio. It was transferred from YouTube to the project with ease. The volume was also adjusted accordingly. Lastly, transitions between the clips had to be made. We did a vote on which one looked better. By better, I mean smoother and sadder as the video is meant to be depressing. We picked a fade for the first transitions. The last one had a special fade to black at the end which certainly added an impact to it.
