Reflection

For this project, there were many firsts for me. I learned how to add external audio. In my previous works I only included the audio from the videos themselves. Now that I downloaded some music and put it into the video it made it much more entertaining and watchable. All I had to do was take it from my files and upload it. However, it was difficult to put the audio in the right spot. I eventually figured it out and I could definitely make another video on this platform again.   Putting this project together made me learn many things. A diverse array of skills was put together in the making of it. The planning process was where I learned most things. Choosing a background, planning what kind of shots I want, and the music was something I was not familiar with doing. I did not have the most time to do it, so I had to rush and come up with something. Improvision was a huge part of my project. However, I still managed to do it without much help. There was also very little struggle invo

This is the commercial

It was quite the process making this but here it is!

Reviewing the footage

After recording the commercial, there’s still going to be plenty of work left to do. Even after filming, I’ll have to make several preparations for the final copy. There will be multiple clips needed to be combined to create the full-length video. Each of these must be reviewed to check for any errors. Discrepancies such as lack of audio occurs at some cases. I have frequent microphone issues so that is a big concern of mine. Human errors like tripping over words or sudden pauses are also common. These need to be corrected to prevent any awkwardness in the video. The whole point of a commercial is to sell something so there is not much room for error. Any shakiness or inconsistency with the camera need to be fixed. I do plan on using certain angles and there could potentially be circumstances where the camera isn’t stable enough. Focus is also a factor of recording on a mobile phone. Once all the clips are sorted in the order I want, it would be time to put them together. The final v

Recording

Once everything is planned, it would be time to begin the recording. Bringing myself to the chosen location will be easy considering I have picturesque surroundings near me so there isn’t a lot of traveling necessary. Actually choosing it is the problem. If I want to do several, I’d have a lot of clips to make. I would certainly use the techniques that are found in the vocabulary word assignment that I did for the class. For an advertisement I’d use eye level shots. The reason being to create a neutral view. I am not a very imposing person, nor do I want to create a sense of me being small for the commercial. The neutral shot is in between these so it should be the perfect choice. My scenes will be recorded and then put together to create the commercial. Looking at my nonexistent recording skills, I would have to do several takes for each scene. Unfortunately, tracking shots won’t be possible as I am the only one able to record my commercial. I wouldn’t make others be my production c

Location

Image
There are many factors involved in the production of a commercial. Or any piece of media, for that matter. Picking the right location is a decisive part of the process. For me, I have plenty of options. There is a gym and pool in my apartment building. The gym is vacant at times and may be a good choice for a filming spot. The pool area is also viable, there is a large patio and is also devoid of people at times. The background scenery would be quite stunning as the canal is adjacent to the pool area. Outside the apartment, there is also the beach. The beach is within walking distance from where I live which makes it a nice option. Those 3 places are the best choices. If for some utterly insane reason I cannot make the commercial in these areas, I do have a backup plan. My apartment is not the most visually appealing place, but I can certainly record here with no issues. It will also be the easiest since I am in my home quite often. School is also an option, after hours I can defini

Editing the Commercial

Image
In order to edit the commercial, I must use an editing software. I've been considering the use of iMovie but was recommended CapCut to create it. Apparently, its much easier to use than other ones and has more features. This will be useful because I'll be able to include all the required parts. For the commercial there are going to be several scenes so there would have to be a way to attach several videos. Conglomerating them would also have to be done. I have experience with using iMovie so I could use that to do it. Adding an audio file can be done using iMovie as well. I am unsure if CapCut is able to do the same things iMovie is. I need to further research this. If it happens to do so then I will get it as soon as I possibly can and do everything on there. To record the commercial I will use my iPhone so any app I need to get is easily accessible on it. As of now I am not sure whether I need to speak for the commercial. If I do I have to make sure I don't trip over m

My favorite photograph that I took has to be that of #617. This was a locomotive built for the New Haven Railroad in 1947. It was acquired by Penn Central in a merger but was later sold to the Long Island Railroad. They used it has a HEP (Head-End Power) unit because their locomotives could not supply heat and air conditioning on their own. Although, they did have steam heating but the passenger cars that were compatible were set to be retired. They used 617 for 25 years until phasing it out. They gave it to the Danbury Railway museum. My hobby is model railroading. I bought a miniature scale version of #617 for my own layout. One day, me and my friend planned a trip to Connecticut to visit the Danbury museum. I got up early in the morning and we took car service to Grand Central. It took just under three hours to get to the end of the line where the museum was located. I brought my own model of 617 to take a picture with the real version of it. Easily, I think that image was the be

Intro Blog

Good morning, bloggers. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Jayden Capuano. I am 15 years old as of today and in the 11th grade. My birthday is on the 10th of September and it is very close. I am a Junior at Fort Lauderdale High School. I have a good amount of friends who I enjoy hanging out with. I have several hobbies that I do when there is free time. These include model trains, coin collecting, and railfanning. Working out and swimming in the pool are also activities that I love doing. I have a job and work at a sports bar. It is a great work environment and I feel happy to be there. My job is mainly to roll up silverware but I also am asked to do other tasks in the kitchen and the ice stations. I will have money to do fun stuff with my girlfriend and buy more things for my hobbies. The food there is very good. One of the dishes I like from there are the chicken sandwiches. They're good, but they're not my favorite food. That would be spaghetti bolognese. I try to se
