Starting from scratch

   It is that time again. Time to scrape up an entirely new project out of pretty much nothing. So, the plan is to assemble everyone and pick a date that works for everyone involved in the making of this short film. The issue is people have lives. The result is that filming will have to be delayed for quite some time. It is unfortunate, as nearly everything as far as the props go have been put together. Extras for the film are willing to help too. Of course, as any level minded individual would want, they want a set date and location for the filming. We cannot provide such information at this time. The closest thing to that we can give them is an estimated time, or a window of time that we hope they would be free on. Personally, I know these people relatively well, so I could probably buy us a round of root beer floats after we pack up. Normal people likely would have quit on us by now. It is funny to think about the circumstances me and my team would face without them. The location of the film is in an area that is relatively close to me and most of my crew. Those who do not live as close, they would be able to be on set as well. The people I need on set have cars, and those who do not can get adequate transportation from their parents if they are not at work. The location itself has been determined, but I do have some suspicions about it. We may have to contact someone to let them know that we are filming something there. Also, I am unsure if my group members approve of filming something so close to a certain site, but that is for another blog. All in all, I am hopeful for the project to work out well.

Setting up the date for filming

  Picking the date for the film may seem easy, but there are many factors that come into play when doing so. Depending on when we are the most available, we have two choices. Thursday the 21st of February is our primary option. This is the day where the actors are free the most. The alternative date we chose is Sunday the 24th. This will be our filming date in the case one of the actors is absent. Most of us have to balance school work an actual job work in our lives. The result being a limited time frame. Thursday is the best option for a few reasons. One being the fact that we can record at dusk and night time. This is perfect because we want to make our horror film during "scary hours". If it happens Sunday, this is not possible as I have work at day time and Mario (group member) has it at night. If it is filmed at day, it reduces the scary effect substantially. Reviewing the footage

  After recording the commercial, there’s still going to be plenty of work left to do. Even after filming, I’ll have to make several preparations for the final copy. There will be multiple clips needed to be combined to create the full-length video. Each of these must be reviewed to check for any errors. Discrepancies such as lack of audio occurs at some cases. I have frequent microphone issues so that is a big concern of mine. Human errors like tripping over words or sudden pauses are also common. These need to be corrected to prevent any awkwardness in the video. The whole point of a commercial is to sell something so there is not much room for error. Any shakiness or inconsistency with the camera need to be fixed. I do plan on using certain angles and there could potentially be circumstances where the camera isn’t stable enough. We reunite once more

   The four of us have returned for one final task. Me, Myles, Mario, and Daniel. These are the four people that sit around me and sometimes help me with my work. These are the gentlemen I want to do this project with. I choose to work with them for a variety of reasons. One being I have already worked with them on my music video. We already have communications established with ourselves. We also now know the different qualities each of us have when it comes to our work. I also learned a lot about myself during the past project. For instance, I have a good perception of knowing when a clip is should be used for the final product or not. I unfortunately often suffer with general interpretation as well, and I am often confused on some things within the project. Learning the different qualities about my fellow group members was also an interesting experience. Myles is a good communicator, and that is useful when it comes to interpreting instruction.
