Our Pitch

 Pitch A: A person chilling in their house listening to some music and making food, until they spot a person in their backyard. He gets in and tries to kill him, they run to the forest and the guy gets tricked and bleeds out.

Pitch B: Two robbers break into a person's house, not knowing that they're a psychopath and plans to brutally murder them.

Discuss pitch A: I would be interested in making this film opening because it seems like a simple yet effective opening to a film. This was the first scene that I thought of when I heard we had to make a film opening. I have many ideas on how this scene could go with multiple alternatives. I already know of some places we could film this and how we would go about it. I think this would be a great way to open a horror movie and I would love to film this idea.

Discuss pitch B: I would be interested in making this film opening because it would be a interesting and unique way to open to a horror movie. This is a scene that I had put a little more thought into. I would love to film this scene too but unlike the other opening we would be limited to only one area. I think this opening would still be a great way to start a horror movie. I can come up with many different ways to film this too and make a riveting movie opening. 

Final decision: I would like to do Pitch A, since I feel like that one is more thought out and could make for a better opening.

Setting up the date for filming

  Picking the date for the film may seem easy, but there are many factors that come into play when doing so. Depending on when we are the most available, we have two choices. Thursday the 21st of February is our primary option. This is the day where the actors are free the most. The alternative date we chose is Sunday the 24th. This will be our filming date in the case one of the actors is absent. Most of us have to balance school work an actual job work in our lives. The result being a limited time frame. Thursday is the best option for a few reasons. One being the fact that we can record at dusk and night time. This is perfect because we want to make our horror film during "scary hours". If it happens Sunday, this is not possible as I have work at day time and Mario (group member) has it at night. If it is filmed at day, it reduces the scary effect substantially. The very beginning phase

   The first thing we have to do to prepare for our filming is brainstorm ideas. Making an into to a film is not easy, and requires a lot of parts to do it properly. The costumes that we end up wearing have to match the genre of the film. For instance, horror films are unique in this sense. The antagonist of the film should be wearing something entirely different from the protagonists. The killer must look scary so that the audience fears him. The other characters must look like every day people, so the audience can sympathize with them. The killer's clothing should be worn, stained, and grotesque to look at. Examples of this are Jason Vorhees from the series "Friday the 13th". He was underwater for a long time so his clothes are normally drenched and muddy. The hockey mask he wears is also weathered.
