  Choosing music for a horror movie is quite simple. We have to pick a song or instrumental that gives the audience a sense of uneasiness. A lot of music considered “scary” is actually misleading. In fact, many would consider it cheesy and not frightful at all. I’ve watched many short horror films that include a completely different approach to music in their creations. That being old music played from a record player or phonograph. With that being said, it may not sound very scary at face value. There are a few reason why, combined with the context, the old music could make a great addition to the soundtrack of our horror movie intro. The distorted effect to the music caused by an old machine can add to the overall mood of the film. Also, the fact that the person singing, playing the instruments, or even listening to it is dead now can cause some discomfort.   For this blog, I selected the website "artofthetitle.com". It is a website that showcases the opening sequences of a variety of different movies. These movies being of many different genres themselves. This specific website has the opening sequences of several horror movies from several time periods that interest me. My group mates aren't exactly concerned over this as they already have an idea in mind on what they want to do as in era of horror movies they want to try to replicate in our opening scene. However, I want to appreciate all of them as this website does. It takes into account many eras of horror film and I would like to choose inspiration from one of them. There are many different factors that differentiate and distinguish artofthetitle from other websites like it. This website creates a yearly list of the Top 10 opening scenes of movies.  In total, there are about three thousand opening sequences of films on this website.
