Our script

Location of scene: Wooded area
SCENE 1: Two soldiers in gray uniforms are running away from something, there is loud popping noises in the background. They jump into a sunken area in the ground and turn their weapons in the direction they came from. After a while, they settle into their new hole in the ground and catch their breath.

SH: "If we keep retreating like this, we will end up in the sea."

The Spotter hears this, so he reaches into his pocket for a circular tin can.

SP: "Here, to keep your head on straight."

The Sharpshooter takes then tin, looks at it, and hands it back.

SH: "Save it."

The Spotter takes the tin back, smiles, and then eats a portion of the chocolate. After this, they both go up to the ledge and watch for any movement.
SCENE 2: Both soldiers are watching for any enemy movement.

SH: "See anything yet?"

We see what is ahead of them in the eyes of the binoculars, there is nothing.

SP: "No, nothing."

They continue to stare out into the wilderness for a while, until the Sharpshooter goes back into the hole and checks his ammunition.
SCENE 3:The Sharpshooter pulls a clip out of his pocket with bullets attached, revealing that he has very little ammunition left on him.

SH: "Check your ammunition."

The Spotter proceeds to pull 2 rounds out of his pocket.

SP: "Two."

SH: "Hand them over."

The Spotter hesitates, but gives up the two bullets.

SP: "Who's going for ammunition?"

The Sharpshooter smiles and points at the Spotter.
\
SH: "It's your turn!"

The Spotter shakes his head and moves to get up, but before he does, both soldiers hear distant explosions.
SCENE 3: An artillery barrage is seen going overhead and the two soldiers duck for cover.

SH: "ARTILLERY! GET DOWN!"

They duck for cover in the trench.

SP: "Wait look up, they must be way off."

The Sharpshooter looks at the Spotter for a second, then back up and pauses.

SH: "No, they're right on target. You won't need to bother going for ammunition."

The Spotter is at a loss for words. The Sharpshooter checks his rifle and goes back up. The Spotter attempts to convince the other to surrender to the Americans before they arrive.

SP: "When they get here, we will die!"

SH: "Shut up."

SP: "Do you understand? This is suicide!"

SH: "I DID NOT SPEND 2 YEARS IN AFRICA JUST TO GIVE UP NOW!"

The Spotter panics and attacks the Sharpshooter, causing a brief fight that ends with the Sharpshooter punching the Spotter.
SCENE 4: Nobody says a word, and the Spotter goes into the trench and pulls a book out. While writing in this book, the sniper moves back up again. The other follows. Finally, something is seen through the binoculars.

SP: "Movement."

The Sharpshooter cycles the bolt and puts his finger on the trigger. He pulls it and the U.S. soldier he fires at collapses and begins to scream. This starts a firefight. There is the sound of something slamming on metal and the side of the Sharpshooters face is hit by blood. Another U.S. soldier runs up on the position and points his weapon at the two.

US: "Hands up!"

The Sharpshooter looks up and slowly puts his hands up, they are shaking. He is taken out of the pit.
